Luke Gran
CEO, Certified Forester
Luke is the owner of Prudenterra and is a Certified Forester with the Society of American Foresters (SAF). He created Prudenterra after graduating from Iowa State University (B.S. Forestry, 2008). While working Prudenterra part-time, Luke also worked at Practical Farmers of Iowa and grew vegetables with TableTop Farm. In 2014, he went full-time with Prudenterra. He lives outside of Nevada, Iowa.
Carter Meislahn
Project Manager
Carter grew up in central Iowa and found his passion for natural resources through his outdoor pursuits in hunting and fishing at a young age. This led to him starting in Wildlife/Fisheries/Forestry studies at Ellsworth Community College before earning a degree from Iowa State University in Animal Ecology in 2023. Throughout school, and since graduation, Carter has worked in fisheries, aquatic habitat management, and conservation. His passion lies in restoring native ecosystems throughout the state of Iowa for the benefit of both wildlife species and recreational enjoyment.
Alex Loberg
Operations Assistant
Alex has always enjoyed nature by exploring the woods in his backyard with friends and family. Alex’s passion for growing all sorts of vegetables and fruits is what got him into Agriculture in the first place. And it always feels great to be helping Mother Nature grow back into what it lost.
The Crew
Crew members utilize chainsaws, prescribed fire, and other tools to implement woodland and prairie restoration work at Prudenterra. Many crew members are students or graduates of the Natural Resource Ecology and Management (NREM) department at Iowa State University.
